Challenge

A top tertiary institution with 35,000+ students in undergraduate, postgraduate schools has been running on an obsolete portal solution and are trying to deploy an Education ERP to automate their processes, consolidate there numerous disjointed portals and have a single data source for the entire institution. They were having a hard time trying to decide if their internal team with a lot of limitations can develop an ERP Software for their use or to work with an experienced Education ERP provider to solve their problems.

The institution needed a system to manage all academic and non-academic activities like admissions, student records, bio-metrics, programs, course enrollment, LMS, assessment, personnel, payroll, pensions, and others; they also want to unify all the databases from departments, faculties and associations and have access to all their needed information about the students and school activity which couldn’t be managed by their existing ‘obsolete’ portal.

Student attendance existed as a separate entity and the bio-metric information captured during student registration could not be integrated with the existing system.

The institution also need to host this ERP software locally and ensure maximum availability and security.

Results

We deployed the core ERP application and database on local servers managed by the institution’s IT Unit and we set up cloud redundancy for high availability; we also implemented several security procedures to ensure the institution and student data is safe at all times.
